On Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.,Christian Joppichfrom Osnabrück will perform works by Brahms and Franck on the historic Walcker organ at St. Antonius Church in Papenburg as part of the WALCKER PUR concert series.

Biography
Christian Joppich, born in Hanover, studied at the Hanover University of Music and Drama with Prof. Hans-Christoph Becker-Foss (organ) and Prof. Heinz Hennig (choral conducting), and completed his studies in church music in 1995 with the A-Examen. He then received a DAAD scholarship to study organ in Lyon (France) at the Conservatoire National du Région under Prof. Louis Robilliard, as well as harpsichord in Hanover under Prof. Lajos Rovatkay.
After working in Hanover and Wuppertal, he has been the church musician at St. Johann in Osnabrück since 2002, where he is responsible for the musical and liturgical organization of church services, choral work (the Johannis Choir, the St. Johann Chamber Choir, and the Choralschola), concerts, and more. In addition, he works at the Episcopal Church Music Seminary as part of the part-time C-level training program and teaches organ at the University of Osnabrück.
In 2011, he was appointed director of church music by Bishop Dr. Bode.
He has served as an organ expert for the Diocese of Osnabrück since 2018. He oversaw the organ restoration at St. Johann throughout the entire planning and construction phase from 2017 to 2025.
