The Antoniuschor Papenburg was founded in the fall of 2016 by regional church musician Ralf Stiewe. Since then, the approximately 40 singers have been dedicating themselves to rehearsing—primarily challenging sacred choral music for liturgical services and concerts—during weekly rehearsals. The choir will celebrate its 10th anniversary on December 13, 2026, as part of an evening of sacred music during Advent. You are cordially invited!

Several times a year, the choir provides musical accompaniment for church services. Since 2022, it has performed a major work once a year as part of a concert—such as Johannes Brahms’s *German Requiem* in 2022, Benjamin Britten’s *Ceremony of Carols* and Camille Saint-Saëns’s *Oratorio de Noël* in 2023, in 2024, Parts I–III of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, and in 2025, Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, Op. 9. We are currently rehearsing Joseph Haydn’s *The Creation*, which will be performed in May 2027 with the Emsland Music School Symphony Orchestra and soloists. Singers of all voice types are warmly welcome, including those interested in participating on a project basis!
