The Friends of Music at St. Antonius Association (e.V.)
As a nonprofit organization, the Friends of St. Antonius support musical activities in the St. Antonius parish in Papenburg.
Since the inaugural concert for the Walcker organ on September 9, 2021, in our parish—featuring the renowned concert organist Christian Schmittfrom Stuttgart and the Munich-based brass ensembleGerman Brass—the Friends’ Association has made it its goal to present a special concert every month and to provide a solid financial foundation for these events.
The centerpiece of our concerts is our Walcker organ, which was originally built in 1927 for the Hans-Sachs-Haus in Gelsenkirchen. However, choral music—performed not only in conjunction with our wonderful organ but also a cappella or with small and large orchestras—also plays a significant role in our parish.
