WALCKER PUR – Paolo Oreni – The Organ as an Orchestra

On Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., Paolo Orenifrom Milan will perform on the historic Walcker-Seifert organ at St. Antonius Church in Papenburg as part of the“WALCKER PUR”concert series. Look forward to a virtuoso program!

Short Biography

Paolo Oreni (born in 1979 in Treviglio, Italy) is described by the SZ as “a marvel of skill with phenomenal precision.” His training took him from the “Gaetano Donizetti” Music Institute to the National Conservatory of Luxembourg, where he won the prestigious “Prix Interrégional – Diplôme de Concert” in 2002, and on to several master classes with Jean Guillou (Guillou also performed on our Walcker organ in 1960 and 1969, when it was still located in Gelsenkirchen).

As a prize winner at several international competitions, Oreni performs worldwide as a soloist and with renowned orchestras. He is a regular guest at major international music festivals, a lecturer for master classes on improvisation and the interpretation of works ranging from Bach to contemporary music, and a sought-after jury member at international and national competitions. He also serves as an organ expert and, with the “Wanderer,” designed what is currently the largest transportable concert organ.

Admission to the concert is free; donations to support the work of the Music Support Association are requested at the exit. You are cordially invited!
